Project Status Key
| Project Status | Explanation |
|---|---|
| Proposed | An application has been submitted by a property owner or developer to request their property be rezoned for planned future development. For rezoning requests, this means that an applicant and/or property owner is requesting a change in the zoning designation of his/her property in order to develop the land under a different set of standards. For Special Use Permits, this means that an applicant and/or property owner is requesting a land use that the Unified Development Ordinance (UDO) requires an additional layer of scrutiny before it can be approved. For preliminary plats, this means that an applicant and/or property owner is seeking to subdivide their property in a manner that must comply with the zoning standards and specifications currently in place. |
| Under Review | The application has been received and is under consideration by either the Department of Community Development staff or the appropriate jurisdiction's governing board. This is primarily for preliminary plats within the City of Sanford's jurisdiction, including ETJ. |
| Approved | The application has been approved and the project may move forward with the next steps in the development process. For rezoning requests, this means the applicant can move forward with development permitted under their new zoning designation, but will still need to obtain one or more of the following:
For Special Use Permits, this means the proposed land use can move forward to the next step in the development process. |
| Denied | The application has been denied and the project cannot move forward, or the application must be substantially modified. For rezoning requests, this means the subject property's current zoning designation will remain unchanged. For preliminary plats, this means the subdivision cannot move forward until the subdivider's proposed preliminary plat meets all the technical standards associated with the subject property's current zoning designation. For Special Use Permits, this means the proposed land use cannot move forward. |
| Withdrawn | The application has been withdrawn and the project will not be moving forward. |
