Bond Projects

The four bond projects approved by voters in the September 2013 bond referendum are: Streetscape and Pedestrian Improvement Bonds, Parks and Recreational Bonds, Greenways and Trails Bonds, and Sidewalk Improvement Bonds.

Community Policing

Uniform Patrol Officers of the Sanford Police Department are the “First Responders” for every police related complaint called into the police Department, Emergency and non-emergency. The Community Policing Division of this unit helps officers connect with the community.

Downtown Sanford

Downtown Sanford, Inc. (DSI) is a 501c(3) non-profit dedicated to the economic health and quality of life in Downtown Sanford, North Carolina. Its mission is to manage the development of Downtown Sanford as the primary economic, cultural, and social center of the community; to educate the community on the unique assets and historical significance of the downtown area; and to promote and stimulate the improvement of these assets.

Fire Department Community Programs

The Sanford Fire Department does much more than just put out fires. The primary function of the Fire Department is to prevent, and minimize loss of life and property.

Sister City

Sanford launched its Sister City program in 2015 by establishing a sister city relationship with Yixing, China. Both cities are known for their pottery heritage.
