Due to hazardous driving conditions associated with Winter Storm Gianna, the City of Sanford’s administrative offices will be closed for Monday, February 2, 2026.
Residents are asked to remain off the roadways as City and State plows work to clear snow and melting ice. Vehicles, trash carts, and other items often stationed along roadways should be moved to allow plows to work. For those who must travel, remember to give work crews plenty of room.
GFL Environmental has suspended service for Monday and expects a delayed start on Tuesday. Crews will operate on a 1-day delay, with Monday’s route collected on Tuesday, Tuesday’s route on Wednesday, etc., until all routes have been serviced.

The City of Sanford’s leaf, limb, and bulk trash collection crews will not operate on Monday. They will resume collection on their regular schedule as conditions allow.
