[ARCHIVED] City Offices to Close for Christmas and New Year's Day

City General

The City of Sanford's government offices will be closed to the public from December 24, 2025, through December 26, 2025, for Christmas. City offices will also be closed on January 1, 2026, for New Year’s Day.

Leaf, limb, and bulk trash does not run when offices are closed. Items place at the curb will be collected on the next scheduled collection day.

Important: GFL Environmental will not collect trash or recycling on Thursday, December 25, or on Thursday, January 1. Their crews will operate on a 1-day delay.

  • Thursday's route will be collected on Friday and Friday's route will be collected on Saturday.
  • All household trash should be placed inside your brown waste cart.
  • All boxes should be broken down, flattened, and placed inside your blue recycle cart.
  • Artificial Christmas trees and other artificial holiday decor should be placed in the brown waste cart.
  • Please leave carts at the curb through Saturday to ensure your waste is collected.

For life threatening emergencies, always call 9-1-1.
