Due to an electrical fire in the mechanical room of the police department early on Sunday morning, the Sanford Municipal Center will remain closed to the public through Friday, January 26.
Customer Service
Beginning on Tuesday at 9:00 a.m., the Customer Service Department will operate from a mobile payment center located in front of the municipal center.
Representatives will be able to process payments made with cash, check, or credit card. Call 919-777-8215 to make a payment by phone. No late fees will be assessed for the week. Online payments continue to be accepted.
The Engineering Department will also operate from the mobile center to process water and sewer connections.
Clean-Up Process
The clean-up process will begin with emergency services so as to prevent any disruption in services. The Sanford Police Department will continue to operate from the Mobile Unit in front of the municipal building during this time.
Restoration experts estimate a thorough cleaning of the building will take until at least Friday.
