The City of Sanford will close a portion of Steele Street on Saturday, May 11 for Downtown Sanford, Inc.’s “Party on Steele” concert.
Originally scheduled for Thursday, the concert has been moved to Saturday at 1:00 p.m. due to impending storms. To accommodate the change, Steele Street will be closed Saturday between Carthage and Wicker streets from 7:00 a.m. until 4:00 p.m.
The street closure is in addition to the planned closure of the Cole Street parking lot from Friday, May 10 at 6:00 a.m. through Saturday evening at 11:30 p.m. for Indie Fest at Hugger Mugger Brewing.
“While rescheduling the Party on Steele is unfortunate, we are excited to offer The Soul Psychedelique for free on Saturday,” says Kelli Laudate, executive director of Downtown Sanford, Inc. “With Indie Fest, Strawberry Jammin’, and the Party, this weekend will be an amazing kickoff to the summer season.”
