The Sanford Fire Department and Sanford Police Department are hosting toy drives to provide Christmas gifts for families in need.
The Sanford Fire Department will kick off its annual 3-Alarm Toy Drive on November 25, 2023. The drive, which began in 1996, benefits families at the North Carolina Jaycee Burn Center and the Firefighters Burned Children Fund. Donations can be dropped off through December 12.
The Sanford Police Department is collecting toys for the Toys for Tots program. Donations can be dropped off through December 8.
All donations for both drives should be new and unwrapped. In addition to toys, firefighters also welcome hygiene products, entertainment items, and gift cards. The departments are open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
