The City of Sanford's solid waste crews will collect real and artificial Christmas trees as part of residential curbside service.
However, residents are asked to do the following:
- Remove all decorations, including tinsel, nails, lights, ornaments, and stands from real Christmas trees. Completely stripped real trees will be collected by leaf and limb crews. Christmas trees with any remaining decorations will not be collected. Stripped trees will be recycled at our compost facility.
- Artificial trees will be collected as bulk trash. They do not need to be stripped.
Please note that solid waste crews are running on an amended scheduled due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
