LEE COUNTY, NC – July 1, 2020 – The Lee County Government Board of County Commissioners approved funding for the Lee County CARES Emergency Small Business Grant program on Monday, June 29, 2020.
There are 40 grants of up to $7,500 each for Lee County small businesses that have been negatively impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic. The money allocated comes from the county portion of the federal Coronavirus Aid, Relief and Economic Security (CARES) Act.
“We know small businesses in our community are hurting,” said Amy Dalrymple, Board Chair of the Lee County Commissioners. “We are pleased to be able to offer this financial support to our local small business owners after receiving funds as part of the federal CARES Act. Our goal is to help Lee County small businesses deal with some of the short-term stressors caused by the pandemic so that they are able to survive and resume normal operations in the long-term.”
The grant application opened Wednesday, July 1, 2020 and will close at 5 PM on Friday, July 17, 2020. Application materials are available on-line here, including a complete list of eligibility requirements. If more than 40 qualified grant applications are received, grant recipients will be selected randomly through a computerized lottery system.
