[ARCHIVED] New Payment Portal Offers Expanded Services for City Customers

seal

The City of Sanford is launching an improved online portal that will provide customers with greater ease, flexibility, and control in managing their accounts and making payments.

Starting Monday, April 1, 2024, at 9:00 a.m., customers will be able to use a single login to:

  • Pay water bills from any device any time of the day.
  • View, print, or download water bills.
  • Access payment histories and bill due dates.
  • Make a one-time payment or schedule future-dated payments.
  • Schedule recurring credit/debit payments with AutoPay.
  • Go green and enroll in paperless billing.
  • Modify account information.

“This new platform offers expanded self-service functionality, enhanced security features, and a quick payment experience,” explains Michelle Ballard, Customer Service Manager for the City of Sanford.

The best part for many customers is the added ability to schedule monthly recurring payments and pay with a credit or debit card, Ballard says. “These are features many customers have requested and that provides peace of mind that bills will be paid by the due date,” she says.

This improved portal will eventually allow customers to have direct access to detailed usage reports and set leak alerts to avoid potentially high bills. This increased efficiency, which will be rolled out over the next few months, is accomplished by the City’s upgrade to advanced metering infrastructure (AMI), an automated communication system.

Get started: After the new portal goes live, customers must register to access the full suite of new features. To complete the registration, customers will need their account and customer numbers, which are located on their bills. Customers can make quick payments without registering.

For more information or help with registration, contact the Customer Service Department at 919-775-8215 or visit the Customer Service section of the City’s website at www.sanfordnc.net/utility-services.
