150 Trees

The City of Sanford Appearance Commission has planted 100 trees since being recognized as a Tree City USA in 2014.

To celebrate Sanford's sesquicentennial anniversary, the Appearance Commission accepted donations to plant 50 trees by the end of February 2025. The goal of the initiative was to bring the total trees planted in Sanford to 150 in the 150th year.

The Commission received enough donations to plant 22 new trees! The trees will be planted in public spaces inside the City limits.

Tree Varieties

All donations will be used to purchase trees native to the piedmont region. A variety of native trees will be planted throughout the city limits of Sanford on public property.

Donation Options

Donations of any amount were accepted. Individual donations of $150+ or corporate donations of $300+ qualified for a personalized tree tag. All donors will receive a special certificate and acknowledgement on Sanford150.com. View current donors here.
