The City Attorney performs many vital services, including providing all legal opinions for the City of Sanford, researching and preparing City ordinances, and more.
The City Clerk's Office serves as a document and information resource to City Council, all City departments, and to the residents of Sanford. The Sanford City Council, upon recommendation of the City Manager, shall appoint the City Clerk to serve at the will and pleasure of the Council. The City Clerk's Office is subject to the supervision of the City Manager.
The City Manager serves as the Chief Administrative Officer in Sanford's council-manager form of government. Appointed by City Council for an indefinite term, he shall be responsible to the Council for the administration of all city affairs placed in his charge by or under the City Charter.
