Personnel

The Sanford Fire Department is staffed 24 hours a day, every day of the year. The Department protects around 31,000 people and its jurisdiction covers 29.1 square miles.

In charge of the department is the Fire Chief, whose office is located at Station 3. The Fire Chief works a day shift and is assisted by the Deputy Fire Chief and an administrative assistant. The full-time membership of the department is 53 employees and 3 stations.

• Central Fire Station: there are 3, 24-hour shifts at the station with 5 personnel assigned to each shift. The Deputy Chief, Battalion Chief, and Fire Inspection offices are located at this station.
  
  
• Fire Station 2: there are 3, 24-hour shifts at the station with 5 personnel assigned to each shift.
  
  
• Fire Station 3: there are 3, 24-hour shifts at the station with 5 personnel assigned to each shift. This is also the administrative office with the Fire Chief and the administrative assistant located here with office hours 8-5, Monday-Friday.
  
  
• Fire Station 5: there are 3, 24-hour shifts at the station with 5 personnel assigned to each shift.
