Mayor Salmon has issued a declaration rescinding the State of Emergency enacted following Tropical Storm Debby.
The State of Emergency declaration was signed on August 8, 2024, at 12:45 p.m., in response to hazardous conditions brought by Tropical Storm Debby, including flooding, power outages, downed trees, access obstacles for emergency responders, and the possibility for tornadoes.
By declaring a State of Emergency, the City of Sanford was authorized to take all actions necessary to maintain the public order or provide for the protection of lives, safety, or property, as needed. No conditions or restrictions were imposed.
The declaration of recension goes into effect on Saturday, August 10, 2024, at 8 a.m.
