New Applications for All Building Permits Effective January 20, 2026

The Sanford/Lee County Building Permitting/Inspections Department has updated its applications for all building permits.

Effective January 20, 2026, permit application packets for residential, commercial, and manufactured homes will include the Lee County Environmental Health application, along with dividers to clearly separate departmental requirements.

Applicants will be required to check the box at the top of the Lee County Environmental Health form indicating whether they are on public services or private services.

--Applicants on public services are not required to complete the Lee County Environmental Health application included in the packet.

--Applicants on private services are required to complete the Lee County Environmental Health application included in the packet.

--Applicants with prior approval from Lee County Environmental Health may submit the approval in lieu of completing the application.

These updates will be reflected in:

--Existing permit packets on the Permit Applications section of the Sanford/Lee County Building Permitting/Inspections Department website.

--The CSS Online Portal (where the Lee County Environmental Health application will be a required upload).

--Printed copies available at the Building Permitting/Inspections Division office.

Note: All fees associated with Lee County Environmental Health applications must be paid directly to Lee County Environmental Health. The Building Permitting/Inspections Division does not accept Lee County Environmental Health payments, and these fees will not be invoiced under building permits.
