At its June 6, 2023 meeting, Sanford City Council approved the City of Sanford’s budget for fiscal year 2023-2024, which includes rate increases for water and wastewater users.
The City’s water rate will increase by 6 percent and its wastewater rate will increase by 3 percent, effective on July 1, 2023. To view the new rate schedule, go to www.sanfordnc.net/utility-services and select “Rates” from the left sidebar.
The increases are necessary to maintain and repair the City’s water and wastewater infrastructure as well as to prepare to expand the Water Filtration Facility.
Along with the rate increases, the FY 2023-2024 budget increases the municipal sanitation fee by $20 per year. View the FY 2023-2024 budget ordinance at www.sanfordnc.net/budget.
