Appearance Commission Requests Proposals for Two Murals

Public Art

The City of Sanford Appearance Commission is currently accepting proposals from artists interested in creating commissioned public art murals.

There are two murals in the works. One will commemorate local racing legend J.D. McDuffie with his pit crew as the secondary focus. This mural will be located at 329 Carthage Street. Read the full RFP here.

The second mural will celebrate The Piedmont Blues with blues musician Floyd Council as the main focus and Pink Anderson as the secondary focus. This mural will be located at 212 Carthage Street. Read the full RFP here.

Proposals must be submitted by April 22, 2022 at 5:00 p.m. To be considered, artists must either live in North Carolina or have been raised in North Carolina.
