Holidays
  All closings for holidays are announced in the local paper, a person is on call in case of an emergency.
Account Questions
  Please have your account number ready, customer service numbers are 919-775-8215 and 919-775-8216. Also see Account Billing information.
Planned & Unplanned Repairs
  The City of Sanford notifies all customers of any planned repairs that might effect your water service. However unplanned interruptions may occur, such as broken pipes or lines that have been cut, we cannot notify everyone that is effected.
Garbage Pickup
  The City of Sanford provides garbage pickup to all single-family dwellings located inside the city limits. Multi-family residents need to contact their landlords, businesses are not covered. We are currently contracting with ARS (American Refuse System, also known as Waste Management) for garbage pickup. You can obtain a trash container and recycling bin by calling 919-774-9511 and one will be delivered to your residence.
Construction Accounts
  Deposit and new account setup required for all construction accounts or have a Water Consumption Agreement on file with the City.
Temporary Accounts
  The owner of the property will be required to sign a Water Consumption Agreement with the City accepting full responsibility for water consumed until an individual (such as a renter) signs up for service.
Water Leaks
  Accept either plumber's statement or customer receipt for items purchased for leak repair. We will adjust two bills back to what they ran one year ago. This adjustment is given only once a year.
Meter Tests
 

Meter test is free if the water bill is 50% above the average consumption from the prior year and the meter has not been tested in the past 24 months

$50 fee if no problem is found; free of charge if meter is inaccurate.

Large meters pay actual cost of re-test if no problem found, $500 and up.
