The City of Sanford requires a security deposit for each meter location that is on city service. This deposit is held until the service is terminated and will be applied against any outstanding bills. No reduction is made if the property is annexed into the city limits. |

| 2) Credit or Debit card: We accept Visa and MasterCard. Please call 919-775-8215 or stop by the office to make payment. | |
| 3) Electronic Draft: Complete the electronic draft form and your water and sewer bill will be set up to be drafted on your due date each month. | |
| 4) Night Drop Box: Located in the circular drive at the back of the building. Any payments placed in this box after 5:00 pm will be credited the following business day. Please pay with check or money order, as the city is not responsible for cash payments left in the night drop box. | |

| Transfers | |
| If you move from one address to another and both services are served by the city, you can transfer your deposit. Please call us at 919-775-8215 to transfer your service to the new location. | |
| Cut Offs | |
| When you move off of city water please call us at 919-775-8215 to have service discontinued and to give us a forwarding address so that we might return your deposit or send your final bill. | |
| High Bills | |

If you notice an increase in your bill from month to month please do
the following:
1) Check your home for any possible leaks. 2) Check your meter. If no one is using water, the dial should not move. If the dial is moving you will need to contact a plumber. 3) If no leaks are found, contact the City and we will send someone to check the meter. This service is currently free. If you have a leak and get a licensed plumber to repair the leak, please bring us a plumber’s statement or customer receipt for items purchased for leak repair. We will adjust two bills back to what they ran one year ago. This adjustment is given only once a year. If you have an emergency that occurs after-hours, please contact the Police Department at 919-775-8268 and they will dispatch a service person. |

| Returned Checks | |
| The City of Sanford charges all returned checks a processing fee of $25.00. We do not redeposit any returned items as the bank has already provided this service before an item is returned. | |
| Credit Bureau | |
| The City of Sanford is a member of the Credit Bureau and all past due accounts are subject to be reported for collections after 30 days of final notice. | |
