The Public Works Department at the City of Sanford consists of twelve divisions and 130 employees. The department is led by Larry Thomas, Public Works Director. Tim Shaw serves as Operations Manager of our Public Works Service Center, and Vic Czar is our City Engineer. Our Water Treatment Plant is located at 7441 Poplar Springs Church Road, and has the capacity to treat 12 million gallons of water per day. Our Wastewater Treatment Plant is located at 5324 Iron Furnace Road, and has a permitted capacity of 6.8 million gallons per day. 

Our department's mission is to provide essential and quality-of-life services to the citizens of Sanford in the most courteous, convenient and cost-effective manner.
