Keep your drains on a low fat diet!  Grease clogs sewer lines just like it clogs your arteries.  The following are some items that should not be put down the drains:  
Meat fats   Butter and margarine
Lard    Fatty food scraps
Cooking oil or shortening  
Other Items Than Can Clog Wastewater Lines  
Bones   Hair
Metal and glass  Ashes, sand, mud
Sticks, limbs and grass Rags and hygiene products
Baby care products  Plastics  

Keep The System Safe  

Dispose of household chemicals properly.  Certain chemicals when combined in sewer pipes can become toxic, flammable and even explosive.  Please follow disposal directions on container.  Other dangerous substances include the following:  
Floor care products Insecticide
Paint    Brake fluid
Paint thinner  Gasoline
Weed killer  Fertilizer
Artists’ paints, mediums Motor Oil
Lighter fluid Herbicides
Antifreeze Rat poison
Car wax with solvent Varnish
Kerosene   Turpentine
