The main goal
of the Beautification Division is to provide a pleasing
and lasting look for both citizens and visitors to the
City of Sanford. This is done by continually planting
and maintaining the beds throughout the City Limits.
The Beautification Division plants 67,000 annual flowers
and thousands of perennials each year. The division
mows a total of 1,200 acres during grass season abd
prune 7,500 shrubs and trees. Another goal of the Beautification
Division is to keep the City free of litter by removing
42,000 pounds of litter along right-of-ways and traffic
islands each year.
Beautification is currently adding new traffic islands
throughout the City to improve entranceways to the City
of Sanford. The division plants continuously, looking
for a combination of color throughout the entire summer
and winter seasons.
