The Sanford Fire Department does much more than just put out fires. The primary function of the Fire Department is to prevent, and minimize loss of life and property. The Fire Department is trained and equipped to perform:

  • Structural firefighting
  • Basic and advanced emergency medical services
  • Vehicle accident/extrication
  • Confined space rescue
  • Structural rescue
  • Hazardous Materials Incidents
  • Provides Public Education of Fire Safety
  • Various Other Community Services

We invite you to tour our stations or we can visit you!

Sanford Fire Department will set up programs within the city limits for clubs, schools, preschools/daycares, and other groups fore Fire Life Safety Education which can include a discussion, Fire Pup, Freddie, Smoke Trailer, and/or bringing the fire truck out, depending on the age group and requests.
