City Taxes are currently contracted with Lee County
and can be paid at the Lee
County Tax Collection's office.

Disconnection for Nonpayment of Bill
Accounts are subject to disconnection if not paid
in full each month. If your service is disconnected
for nonpayment, delinquent fees and all arrears
must be paid before service can be restored. If
you pay during office hours your service will be
restored without an additional charge. If you have
not paid your bill and call after hours to have
service reconnected you will be charged an additional
$25.00 reconnection fee. You will then have until
10:00 AM the next day to pay the account in full.
If the account is not paid in full, your service
will be disconnected again and will not be reconnected
until your account is paid in full.
Conservation Program for Ultra
Low Flow Toilet
The City of Sanford encourages water saving
practices, water reuse and conservation. As
part of our water conservation program, the City
offers a rebate program for customers that
install ultra low flow toilets (ULF 1.6 gals).
Customers may receive a $50.00 credit on their
water account for replacing a water-wasting
toilet with a ULF toilet. Customers may replace
a second toilet and receive a $25.00 credit.
The City will give no more than two credits per

Leak/High Bills
What are the “present” and “previous”
dates? Did anything unusual occur during this time
period? Washing cars, watering the lawn, leaving
a water hose turned on, filling a pool, washing
a lot of clothes, extra house guests?
Check house for leaks - leaking faucets (inside
and out), running toilets, leaking water heater,
dishwasher, icemaker, washer; water under the house,
listen for running water.
Check yard for wet spots.
Look at the history section of your bill and compare
current usage to usage for last month as well as
a year ago.
Returned Checks
The City of Sanford charges all returned checks
a processing fee of $25.00. We do not redeposit
any returned items as the bank has already provided
this service before an item is returned.
Credit Bureau
The City of Sanford is a member of the Credit Bureau
and all past due accounts are subject to be reported
for collections after 30 days of final notice.
