The City of Sanford’s parks department has created a scavenger hunt to encourage residents and visitors to explore local facilities in a safe and fun way.
The scavenger hunt, which will run from August 7 through August 28, includes both City parks, Lee County parks, and downtown landmarks. Access the scavenger hunt rules and checklist here.
“We want all Sanfordians to get outside and enjoy our area,” says Mayor Chet Mann. “This scavenger hunt is a great opportunity to spend time with family and while rediscovering the great outdoors in Sanford.”
“We understand and appreciate how much the people of Sanford love their parks and miss being outdoors,” says Don Reuter, parks administrator for the City of Sanford. “During these challenging times, we hope this scavenger hunt provides an opportunity to stay connected to these important resources.”
To participate, individuals or groups (5 people or fewer) should take a photograph at each location. Once complete, attach all photographs to one email and submit it to the parks department. Submissions must be received by 5:00 p.m. on August 28.
Scavenger hunt participants who find at least 10 of the 15 items on the checklist will be entered to win a prize. There will be a grand prize drawing for participants who find all 15 items.
