Beginning October 1, the City of Sanford’s utility customers will have more options for making secure payments, even for those paying with cash.
The City has contracted with Paymentus to offer automated phone payments in addition to online payments. By calling 919-775-8215, customers can receive quick account balances and make payments at no additional cost 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Customers will need their account and customer numbers, which are located at the top of their bills.
Like online billpay, the automated phone system is only for making payments or receiving account balance updates. Service reconnections cannot be processed online or via the automated system.
Note: Customers whose service is eligible for disconnection will need to speak to a Customer Service Representative during normal business hours by calling 919-775-8215 and pressing 0.
The City also now allows customers to pay their monthly utility bill at CheckFree Pay payment centers within Sanford’s city limits. Customers must supply their bill payment stub to use the service, which accepts debit card or cash payments. Processing fees are assessed by the vendor and payments take three business days to process.
