Safety Lunch for Seniors | July 31

National Night Out

The Sanford Police Department and Sanford Fire Department have teamed up with the Lee County Enrichment Center to offer a lunch program geared toward senior citizens.

In past years, many seniors have not participated in National Night Out because it is too hot for them. This event will be held in an air conditioned facility and a meal will be available.

The Community Policing Unit will provide tips and strategies for staying safe. The Sanford Fire Department will offer fire prevention strategies.

The event is free to attend. Lunch will begin at the end of the program (11:45a). The cost of lunch is $7.50. Anyone who would like to have lunch must register by the Friday before by calling 919-776-0501 ext. 2216.

This free event is a precursor event for National Night Out (NNO), which is August 6 this year. Neighborhood representatives and churches who attend the event on Saturday can register to host an NNO gathering for their community while they are there, or find a gathering near their homes. (Register online here.)
