City First Responders Host Christmas Toy Drives


The Sanford Fire Department and Sanford Police Department are hosting toy drives to provide Christmas gifts for families in need. 

3-Alarm Toy Drive

The Sanford Fire Department has kicked off its annual 3-Alarm Toy Drive, which began in 1996. All items donated at any of the city’s three fire stations will be donated to families at the North Carolina Jaycee Burn Center at UNC. In addition to toys, firefighters also welcome hygiene products, entertainment items, and gift cards. 

Donations can be dropped off through December 16 and will be delivered to the Burn Center on December 19. All donations should be new and unwrapped.

Sanford Police Department Toy Drive

The Sanford Police Department is launching its toy drive this year. Donations of new, unwrapped toys can be dropped off at the department’s front desk any time day or night. 

The drive will run through December 20 and toys will be delivered to local families.

Drop-off Locations

Items can be dropped off any time during the day or night at the following locations:

Sanford Fire Department

  • 900 Cool Springs Road   
  • 2200 Woodland Avenue
  • 512 Hawkins Avenue

Sanford Police Department

  • 225 E. Weatherspoon Street
