The N.C. Department of Transportation has announced a two-week delay for the Gasters Creek bridge reopening. The new date is Friday, December 14.
Originally closed in June and scheduled to reopen on November 15, the bridge was rescheduled to open on November 30 at 5:00 p.m. However, the NCDOT contractor performing the work estimates the company will need at least two weeks to complete the last remaining work.
Still left to be done is paving, curb and gutter concrete work, shoulder construction, and final pavement marking. The contractor notes that the cold temperatures may affect their timeline.
