Fire Department

The Sanford Fire Department is manned 24 hours a day, every day of the year. The Department protects around 30,000 people and it's jurisdiction covers 26.48 square miles. In charge of the Department is the Chief, whose office is located in Station 3. The Chief works a day shift, and is assisted by a secretary. Also assisting the Chief is a Deputy Chief with a full-time membership of 54 employees and 3 stations.

  • Central Fire Station 1: there are 3, 24-hour shifts at the station with 5 personnel assigned to each shift. The Deputy Chief, Battalion Chief, and Fire Inspectors' offices are located at this station.
  • Fire Station 2: there are 3, 24-hour shifts at the station with 5 personnel assigned to each shift.
  • Fire Station 3: there are 3, 24-hour shifts at the station with 5 personnel assigned to each shift. This is also the administrative office with the Fire Chief and the administrative assistant located here with office hours 8-5, Monday-Friday.
